We are excited to announce a call for submissions for the Healing the Land Conference Poster Board Session, taking place from October 7-10, 2024, at the Saulteau First Nations Cultural and Recreation Centre.
This is a unique opportunity for practitioners, researchers, government and industry representatives to showcase their efforts to accelerate restoration initiatives, including conservation planning and protection measures, and to highlight practices that honor Indigenous knowledge systems shaping the future of restoration.
We invite you to share your projects, research findings, and case studies with a diverse audience of
conference attendees. The poster board session, held in the Training Room of the Saulteau First Nations Cultural and Recreation Centre from 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm on October 9th, will provide a platform to exchange ideas and collaborate among researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders.
Submission Guidelines:
Abstract Length: Up to 300 words
Submission Deadline: September 12th, 2024
Topics include, but are not limited to:
o Indigenous-led restoration initiatives
o Land stewardship practices
o Land use planning and protection efforts
o Collaborative and adaptive land management strategies
o Innovative native plant restoration practices and emerging seed technologies
Format: Posters should be 36 x 48 inches in size and can include visual elements such as
infographics, maps, and images.
Selection Criteria: Abstracts will be reviewed based on relevance to conference themes (innovation, collaboration, preparing for the future, and healing the land together).
Submission Process: Submit your abstract to info@healingthelandconference.ca by September 12th, 2024.
Notification of Acceptance: Notification of acceptance will be sent by September 16th, 2024.
Gain visibility and recognition for your work, receive valuable feedback and insights from conference participants, and network with leading experts by participating in the Healing the Land Conference Poster Board Session. 8 openings are available for the poster board session.
As a participant in the conference proceedings, one complimentary General Admission ticket and Gala Dinner ticket will be provided. You will have the option to register for a pre-conference course on October 7th or a post-conference tour on October 10th, at an additional cost.
