Tansi SFN Members,
I am honored to introduce myself as the new Executive Director (Band Manager) for Saulteau First Nations; as of today. This role is one of great responsibility and significance, and I am deeply humbled to have been entrusted with it. As a proud member of our Nation, I recognize the importance of this position and what it means to serve our people.
It has been a long time since one of our own has held this role, and I believe this unique connection gives me a strong foundation to bring meaningful and positive change. Being a part of our Nation means I carry not only the responsibilities of this role but also the deep knowledge of our values and the needs of our community. I am committed to using this perspective to guide our path forward, ensuring that the work we do reflects the best interests of all members.
I also want to acknowledge that this is a significant new challenge for me. While I have had the privilege of serving as the Finance manager then director of SFN, I know this role will require me to grow and adapt. I am prepared to put in the hard work, to listen, to learn, and to ensure that our Nation continues to thrive. I do not take this responsibility lightly, and I am committed to giving my best every day to support the vision and goals of Saulteau First Nations.
I am excited to collaborate with Chief and Council, our staff, and most importantly, with each of you. Together, we can build on the strength of our community, revitalize our culture, overcome challenges, and create opportunities for the future. We will do this “the Saulteau way”. We can utilize our beautiful new Culture Centre to meet more as a community. For off reserve members, I would like to dedicate some virtual meetings to engage more directly.
Thank you for your trust and support. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve in this capacity and remain committed to upholding the trust placed in me by our leadership and community. I look forward to serving Saulteau First Nations with integrity, dedication, and a deep commitment to our people.
