individual to fill the position of Intermediate or Senior Aquatic Specialist.

About the role: Working under the direction of the environmental division manager the successful
candidate will help deliver Aski’s existing projects and help implement its vision for a water
management group. The in-house specialist will provide technical expertise, act as team lead on
project, and co-lead the development of processes, standards, and tools.

Responsibilities or Duties:
• Design and implement water quality monitoring and sampling programs
• Assess aquatic ecosystems and aquatic species
• Utilize specialized gear to perform flow and quality measurements
• Design and develop plans, technical reports, and aquatic mitigation strategies
• Interpret and provide advice on relevant environmental management legislation
• Foster an internal team of technicians and mentor junior staff
• Work with the environmental manager and the general manager on business development
initiatives

Candidate Qualifications
• A technical diploma, B.Sc., or graduate degree in a relevant field
• A minimum of five years of applied experience
• Relevant professional designation is an asset
• Experience in leading aquatic programs
• Knowledge of field sampling protocols
• Knowledge of environmental regulations, policies, and permitting required at all levels of
government
• The capacity to work independently and with minimal supervision
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• A positive, collaborative, team-based attitude
• Advanced technical reporting skills; good verbal and written communications skills
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license
• Experience operating boats is considered an asset
