Overview

We are looking for an amazing Director of Programs and Services to join our team. We are looking for a strong people and programs leader. You’re accountable, reliable, and a natural born leader. You’ve enjoyed success transforming community programs with your strategic leadership, have enabled and inspired performance excellence. You understand the need to meet community expectations and have a track record of designing, developing, and finding funding to develop programs that continue to grow departments. What You’ll Be Doing

Your first year’s success highlights will include conducting a membership survey to determine the needs of the community and conduct a gap analysis to determine where our programming needs improvement. You will be required to support your team and design annual operating plans aligning with the Council’s Strategic Plan. We are a growing Nation – so being able to pivot and be flexible in your approach will also be key to your success. You will provide expertise in supporting all community projects with a strong preference for understanding the needs and requirements of a First Nation. You will bring your strong people skills as you will be interacting with the community and interacting with your team to ensure a continuous flow of communication. You will be invited to present within the organization – to the Council and to the Membership. You will work alongside the best and the brightest in the business with an innovative leader. You will grow your team and help them develop leadership skills to ensure the Nation continues to prosper.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  •  You bring with you a strong track record of designing, developing, running, and improving community programs with a strong preference for First Nations experience
  • You bring with you strong writing and grant application skills having been awarded funding from numerous different funders in First Nations and the Not-For-Profit Agencies
  • You bring with you strong project management and conflict resolutions skills – having experience dealing with community engagement and strong leadership experience having previous lead large teams
  • You’re a people leader with a clear sense of accountability, and highly organized with the foresight to anticipate and implement solutions to long rage programming experience
  • You have previously reported to a senior executive and are well versed in understanding KPIs, report writing, and know how to seek alignment to Chief and Council’s strategic directives
  • You also have strong presentation skills and are a natural with different levels of audiences – from Council to C-Level to employees to contractors and to Members

Work Conditions

  • Salaried position (exempt from overtime) $116,760-$142,700
  • 35-hour work week
  • 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the office on the reserve in Moberly Lake with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
  • Hours are Monday through Thursday, and part days Friday
  • Travel may be required within SFN community and surrounding community
  • Short-term provincial and/or national travel may be required
  • We offer fully paid health and dental benefits and a 5% RRSP matching
  • We also offer a professional training and development reimbursement of $3000/year
  • We also offer 2 weeks off at Christmas time
