Urgent Community Health Notice - COVID-19

Written by

Effective immediately, our offices will be closed for a two-week isolation period.

In response to the recent surge of COVID-19 cases within the Saulteau First Nation’s community and surrounding area, we have made the difficult decision to close our offices for a two-week isolation period, effective immediately.

Please be patient with our staff as they transition, once again, to working from home; we will try to do this as smooth as possible with limited interruption to services.  At this time, we will not be taking payments in person and encourage members to sign up for pre-authorized debit; please call reception (250-788-3955) to have a sign-up form sent to you.

While the first dose of vaccines has been administered to a portion of our community, it is imperative that our members continue to be abundantly cautious in preventing the spread of this virus.

Please continue to follow the Provincial Health Orders which our province has in place.

There should be no social gatherings of any size inside your residence with anyone other than your household or, if you live alone, your core bubble.  Those that do not comply with public health orders may be subject to fines from the RCMP.

Being vaccinated does not excuse you from having to comply with the rules and restrictions which the province has put in place.  We urge you to take this seriously and continue to do your part in keeping our community safe.  Wash your hands and sanitize often, wear masks in public places, and practice social distancing.

If you begin to experience any COVID-19 symptoms, even mild ones, please arrange for a test by calling: 1-844-645-7811

If you do test positive, please contact our health team at 250-788-7258 to discuss COVID relief assistance that is available.

Sincerely,

Chief and Council
